Liposuction and Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck) near New York City
Liposuction
In today's society, feeling good is closely linked to looking good. Much emphasis is focused on your physical appearance. And that can be particularly frustrating if, no matter how much exercise you do or how healthy the diet you follow, you can't seem to eliminate fat from your problem areas. For many people, this refers to fat pockets on the hips, thighs, chin, arms, abdomen, loves handle area, ankles, buttocks, or back (as well as gynecomastia). Liposuction, a safe and effective cosmetic surgery procedure, can help you get the toned, taut body of your dreams.
Dr. Alan Kisner performs three types of liposuction - traditional, tumescent technique, and ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty (UAL) - and will carefully choose the best procedure for your particular case. During traditional liposuction, we use a thin, hollow tube (called a cannula) to essentially suction out excess fat and tissue from the area to be treated, leaving you looking more shapely and sculpted. Conversely, with tumescent technique liposuction, we carefully inject a salt-water solution (that contains some adrenaline or anesthetic) into the area to be treated. The solution makes fat removal a more simple process. Finally, ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty (UAL) requires that we use sound waves to liquefy the fat before we suction it out of the body.
Side effects of all types of liposuction include general discomfort, swelling, and bruising, but most will disappear within a month to six weeks. To learn more about liposuction, please contact our cosmetic surgery practice near Manhattan, New York City, today!

Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)
Having a taut, toned tummy is something that most people dream about, but sometimes even a rigorous exercise routine and a healthful diet can't get them the results they want. Heredity, pregnancy, weight changes, and other factors can leave behind a protruding pouch or a flabby midsection. Abdominoplasty (also called "tummy tuck") is a cosmetic procedure designed to help you get the sleek, flat abs you have always wanted.
During tummy tuck, we will create a flap on the abdomen by making a hipbone-to-hipbone incision, then fold the flap down to expose the underlying muscles. After trimming away excess fat, skin, and tissue, we will tighten the abdominal muscles and replace the flap, suturing it closed. You may experience some side effects following abdominoplasty, including bruising, swelling, and discomfort, but they should subside after a few weeks. After tummy tuck surgery at our office near New York City, you will enjoy a tighter, more toned midsection.
Sometimes, liposuction is combined with tummy tuck for more flattering results. To learn more about abdominoplasty, please contact our cosmetic surgery practice near Manhattan today!
